The below diagram demonstrates the ViewPoint .WEB platform configuration and integration with the ViewPoint Windows platform

• Internet Platform
  

  ViewPoint .WEB is the internet / intranet platform of ViewPoint. .WEB is accessible anytime from anywhere in the world – it is as simple as accessing any other website.

• Single Centralised Environment
  

  .WEB uses the same environment and database as the Windows platform, so there is no duplication of data or user confusion for passwords etc. .WEB updates real time, meaning that updates made in either the Windows platform or the .Web platform can be immediately seen by authorised users of either platform.

• .WEB Security
  

  To prevent unauthorised access, Viewpoint .WEB supports SSL (‘Secure Sockets Layer’) technology to provide .WEB users with internet industry standard security. Used in conjunction with standard WEB server security ViewPoint .WEB is as secure as any website can be.

• No Workstation Installation
  

  There is no workstation configuration or installation required for .WEB, not only does this minimise the cost of ownership it also allows ViewPoint to be accessed from any internet enabled PC – simply point the browser to the website and login. Making ViewPoint accessible from home, client offices, business centres, internet cafe or anywhere there is WIFI

• Client Information
  

  .WEB has virtually exactly the same fields and features as the Windows platform, enabling authorised users to view online the same data they would be able to see as if they were in the office connected to the office network. .WEB offers the same internal data security as the Windows platform. There are a variety of security methods available with an unlimited number of access levels to choose from - starting with a basic ‘all data’ access ranging to a ‘very highly restricted’ access level.

• Modules available
  

  All the ViewPoint Modules – Administrator, Document Manager, Practice Manager and Client Accountant are available via the .WEB platform for enquiry and reporting purposes. Additionally, Administrator and Document Manager are both also available for creating new records and updating existing records.

• Enquiry / Reporting
  

  .WEB offers advanced enquiry and reporting across all the ViewPoint modules. The enquiry and reporting views are available in a standard design format however bespoke designs can be created to combine into a single view data that is normally segregated in the .WIN platform.

• Automated Form Generation
  

  The .WEB platform uses the same business logic and form libraries as the .WIN platform, accordingly new data or changes to data that would ordinarily prompt a .WIN platform user with forms to be automatically prepared will also be promoted to a .WEB user.

• Centralised Document Storage
  

  ViewPoint’s unique Document Manager Remote Interface (‘DMRI’) enables users in any location to store and index soft copy documents and scanned images directly into a centralised ViewPoint Document Manager environment.

• Microsoft Office Integration
  

  As with the .WIN platform ViewPoint .WEB is very highly integrated with Microsoft Office products such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Explorer and Outlook.

• Unlimited Number of Users
  

  Both the .Win and .Web platforms are scalable from a single user to a virtually unlimited number of users, .WEB having the advantage of being accessible from anywhere without a direct network connection.

• Client Access
  

  Using the advanced security settings it is possible to provide clients with secure, client data only, direct enquiry or update access to the ViewPoint. Providing possibilities for better customer servie and potential efficient gains.

• Technology
  

  ViewPoint .WEB uses the ASP.NET technology, based on the latest Microsoft .NET framework and AJAX technology to perform data exchange. Both technologies are designed provide optimal performance and to be compatible with future Microsoft Windows development.
